Matterport Arizona

It was probably from a random blog post or tweet that I first learned about Matterport Arizona quite some time ago. Then, after seeing the system in action at Realogy FWD, Seth (Curb Call) recently told me about it. I hadn't looked closely enough, though, to fully comprehend how their technology operated.

  1. Matterport Arizona It was probably from a random blog post or tweet that I first learned about Matterport Arizona quite some time ago. Then, after seeing the system in action at Realogy FWD, Seth (Curb Call) recently told me about it. I hadn't looked closely enough, though, to fully comprehend how their technology operated. I received a brief sample on Wednesday at Inman Connect. And I must say, it's very amazing. A sophisticated camera is placed in the space, and upon pressing a button, it scans the entire area in 360 degrees. The camera is then moved to another area of the house or room, where it is again pressed, and the process is repeated until all of the gaps are filled with imagery. The vast amount of imagery is kept on Mattport's servers. Why is this important? It will save time for everyone. Given that they have previously performed a thorough digital walkthrough, you can expect that this will enhance conversions of those who actually come see residences. Buyers might only need to see 10 homes in person, as opposed to 50. Both buyers and agents benefit from that. Although Surefield is experimenting with this technology as well, Matterport outperforms them (IMO). Currently, the technology calls for a $4,500 camera (order here). But over time, that will change, and you can picture the images being powered by your smartphone. When that occurs, almost every agent and broker will be able to afford this 3D technology. This is true of residential property. New Building. Hospitality. Or, basically, any real-world location. The 3D era has arrived. This technology has essentially limitless potential.
