  13. In your SAT Book… • Do you have any questions from Sentence completion 7 – 9? • Read p. 61 – 65 together. EXPERIMENT: Which strategy is right for you? • Section 1 Short Reading Comprehension – Do not look at the questions. Read the passage first (make any markings) and then answer the questions. • Section 2 Short Reading Comprehension – Skim the questions prior to reading the passage. Read the passage next (make any markings) and then answer the questions. • On which passage did you perform best?

Homework • Watch the news! • Find a novel (canon) to know from cover to cover and able to manipulate to any prompt. • Study 20 of your vocabulary words! • Complete Short Reading Comprehension Practice Section 3 – 4 in your book. Use BDA strategies: skimming questions prior to reading, summarizing paragraphs / lines, accessing context clues for unknown vocabulary.
