What Is GSCE Catering? • Students will gain…. • an awareness of the catering industry and career opportunities • Knowledge of nutrition and the relationship between diet & health • Food Hygiene Certificate • An understanding of menu planning, Quality control & Catering legislation • Heavily focussed on practical application • Practical every week!

What Is GSCE Catering? • 2 Practical assessments (40% Final Grade) • 1 in Year 10 (20%) • 1 in Year 11 (20%) • 1 Theory Exam (40% Final Grade) • In the summer of Y11 – Higher/foundation • Work experience • 1 week (min) Relating to the catering industry (Y10) Homework: Specific H/W tasks related to class work every 2 week Preparing ingredients to use in practical lessons Revision for Theory Paper
