  3. IA. Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) • Authorized by Congress in 2010 by the same law that passed the Affordable Care Act. Budget: Over $300 MM • Mission: Fund research that focuses on comparative clinical effectiveness research, prevention and diagnosis of disease, and treatment and care. • Priorities: • Assessment of Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment Options • Improving Healthcare Systems • Communication and Dissemination of Research • Addressing Disparities • Accelerating Patient Centered Outcomes Research and Methodological Research suzanne.pak@cmsclinic.org

Pipeline to Proposal Awards (PPA) • Goal: Provide initial awards to help community and health organizations develop capability and capacity to conduct comparative effectiveness research and develop collaborative partnerships with research organizations. • Tier I: This funding cycle was the very first PPA award launched, and open to 10 western states. Cornerstone Medical Services is one of 30 organizations were awarded with a 9- month, $15K contract (28% of applicants selected). • Outcome: Presentation at the Colorado Public Health Institute in November 2014 on the findings from this Tier I project. • Goal: Successful Tier II application (to be submitted in October 2014 for year 2015, in amount of $25K).
