WHAT IS UTAH LAWON Common Marriage • Utah does not have a common law on Marriage. • If you want the courts to see it as a marriage you have to petition them. • If the courts approve they will count the marriage since all of these guidelines have been met. • Legal Age • Legally capable entering a solemnized marriage. • Lived Together • Treat each other as through they are married • Present them to the public as they are married • According to http://www.utcourts.gov/howto/mo rriage/commonlaw/

  3. Pros • Divorced and divide property • Claim damages in a wrongful death action • Claim insurance benefits and so forth • Inherit property
