討論文化是什麼？在一學期對於大洋洲社會文化的理解中，文化並不是一個固定和不會改變的實體，尤其在全球化影響下的當代，人口、商品與觀念的流動，人群、領域與文化傳統脫鉤，我們應該如何重新界定文化，又該如何理解它的意義？大洋洲諸國在二次大戰後，先後獨立。很多國家為了宣示自己文化的獨特性，而「宣稱」某些傳統文化是該國最「正統」的文化。文化的性質是甚麼？
