  1. MARYLAND TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY “THE PROCESS” MADE IN AMERICA by RED THE UNIFORM TAILOR

  2. Made to measure sizing for each individual officer is electronically downloaded for production These cutting tickets contain all sizing information and personal data such as rank and service bars.

  3. A pattern is then generated by CAD for each individual officer, which will guarantee a perfect fit. Here is where adjustments are made to to the pattern for such things as short/long rise, full seat on trousers, and on shirts for full shoulders, larger biceps, short/long tails, tapering of waist, etc. When a garment fits properly, it will wear longer and the officer will be more comfortable.

  4. Fabric, which in this image is being laid out for cutting, is examined for flaws. The spec fabric is created specifically for uniform wear.

  5. Cutting tickets and markers (patterns) are laid out to insure each individual gets the proper pieces.

  6. Garments are cut by computer to guarantee correct sizing and quality. This is done for each individual officer.

  7. Computerized cutting is far more accurate than manual cutting.

  8. This image shows the making of pants’ stripes which is made from the same fabric as the trouser, which will eliminate puckering or shrinking differences between materials.

  9. Assembly of the garments is done either in our New Jersey factory or in our Philadelphia factory.

  10. Bar tacks (extra stitching) is added to all stress points to insure garment longevity.

  11. Inspection of each garment is done to insure that garment meets the prescribed sizing requirement for each individual. This is just one of three quality control steps performed on each garment.

  12. Each garment is then cut to length, based on the cutting ticket information of each individual officer.

  13. Each garment is then hemmed, using the strongest nylon thread available.

  14. Then each garment is pressed, all seams are opened and pressed flat.

  15. The garments are pressed and ready to wear, packaged, tagged and shipped for each individual officer.

  16. What do you get for your money? • Quality fabric • Guaranteed fit • Timely delivery • Made in the USA • A hassle-free buying experience • All garments are guaranteed to be free from all manufacturing defects This same process applies to your shirts and dress blouses.
