DCS PHOS/CPV M.Yu.Bogolyubsky (IHEP,Protvino) CERN, DCS workshop 6 October 2005
TASKS Configure, monitor and control of a) Power supply, b) FEE, c) LED monitor system, d) temperature measurements, e) cooling.
subproject N0 1 subproject N0 2 Architecture-Distributed system
Two options of interface • Industrial standard - Wind, OPC server. 2. Nonstandard case – LINUX, DIM server.
The standard Framework class includes support of the following devices used in the detector PHOS/CPV: 1. CAEN Power Supply SY1527(A188335) (TCP/IP, firm OPC server); 2. Wiener Power Supply PL512F (N0 0M22.022) (CanBus, firm OPC server); 3. ISEG (CanBus, firm OPC server ); 4. ELMB (Embeded Local Monitor Board) for temperature measurements (CanBus, Kvaser cards, ATLAS-made OPC server), 28 meas. points per one module (1 ELMB), total number of ELMB = 5. Main parameters of the ELMB: - 64 channel multiplexed ADC, 16 DO and 8 DI; - L<270 m at 250 kbit/s and L<500m at 125 kbit/s; - number of cards 64 (but recomendation ≤32). Nonstandard approach (Linux, DIM) is used for: FEE, cooling system and LED-monitor control.
Power supply interface Status: ISEG – tested in PHOS lab, CAEN, Wiener – work in progress
ELMB interface Status: work in progress
Interface of the cooling system • ADC – 24 bit (really used 16), • Number of channels – 8, • Frequency of measurements f=10 Hz. • Status: cooling system – ready, • CRW-DAQ - ready, • DIM server /client – ready.
FEE interface Status: FEE server/ FEE client (interlock layer) are ready (beam test in Uppsala , Sweden, May 2005)
1. DCS PHOS/CPV is built as Distributed/Interacted system on Windows and Linux platforms. 2. Support of power supplies (ISEG, CAEN, Wiener) and temperature measurements (ELMB) are based on the standard JCOP Framework solutions with applying of the OPC server. 3. Support of FEE, LED-monitor system and cooling system is based on the special approach in the framework of DIM-technology applied on Linux platform. Conclusions
