  3. If one unit of force lifts 50 units, isn't energy conservation being violated? Answer: No. The I unit of force moves the 50 units only 1/50th the distance the 1-unit moves. Question 2

  4. Suppose the liquid were removed from the reservoir altogether. Would the lift still work under air pressure? Answer: Yes, just as air pressure in tires helps to support the weight of the car. Hydraulic liquid maintains a constant volume, so the air compressor need compress less air to lift the car. Question 3
