  2. Introduction • The purpose of this presentation is to illustrate the competitive wages of the Metal Fabrication fields • The following data is a product of research done by the US Department of Labor, and can be found on the MassCIS website

Average Wages in US • Seen on the following slide is a graph of the 25th percentile, median, and 75th percentile of wages earned in various fields across the United States • Across the US, welders, sheet metal workers, machinists and NC machinists make competitive wages with respect to various other trades offered at WTHS

  5. Average Wages in US • Note that the median wages for the metal fabrication fields are as follows: • Welding - $15.10 • Sheet Metal - $17.96 • Machining - $16.71 • NC Machining - $15.23

Average Wages in Massachusetts • Seen on the following slide is a graph of the 25th percentile, median, and 75th percentile of wages earned in various fields throughout Massachusetts • As compared to across the entire United States, workers in the Metal Fabrication trades make even higher wages, both numerically and when compared to other fields offered at WTHS

Average Wages in the Worcester Area • Seen on the following slide is a graph of the 25th percentile, median, and 75th percentile of wages earned in various fields in the Worcester area • As seen in the chart, metal fabrication fields in the Worcester area pay very well as compared to other trades. • Sheet Metal workers in the Worcester area make on average more than any of the other trades compared here
