A short presentation of Romania • Presidential republic • EU member since 1st January 2007 • NATO member • Attested since 2000 years ago • Latin origins - the Roman emperor Traian and the Dacien ruler • Decebal appear on the famous column in Rome • - the Romanian language is of Latin origin • Three provinces united in 1918 under king Ferdinand of Romania • Romania was a monarchy until 1945, when King Mihai of Romania was forced to abdicate – a black page in the country’s history, followed by the communist regime which ended in 1989 • 1989-2008 – a period of profound transformations

A short presentation of Bucharest -made capital of the country in 1459, under the rule of Vlad Tepes. - an area of 528 of square kilometers divided into six districts - a population of 2.200.000 enhabitants - the political and administrative center of Romania - the biggest industrial center in the country – all types of industry - visited by a large number of tourists every year tourist attractions: The Parliament Palace, The Cotroceni Museum, The Village Museum, The Botanical Garden, The National Museum of Romanian History, The National Art Museum, The National Opera, The Atheneum, 10 theatres, a large number of parks

What makes us special in the community - The large number of children coming to school every year; - The big number of teachers with a high level of qualification; - The big number of teachers who are permanently hired; - The building – 6600 square meters, recently repaired; - All students study foreign languages since the first grade; - A large number of students study English and French in an intensive programme; - A large number of students study computer science; - Numerous prizes taken at school competitions; - At least 10 extracurricular programmes and projects developed every year.

The Romanian School System kindergarten 3-6 year olds primary school – 6/7-10/11 year olds secondary school – 11-15 year olds high school – 15-19 year olds The Bologna university system – 3 years + 2 years MA The institutional buildings belong to the city council All teachers are hired and paid by the Ministry of Education, they are not hired by an individual school. permanently hired teachers teachers hired for a limited period of time School principles are named by the Ministry of Education for a 4 years period, after taking a thorough examination

  6. Our school The school uses new, modern and functional equipment. Today the school functions under the guidance of 80 qualified teachers, who give 1200 children the chance to study and improve themselves in a modern and well-organized environment:
