  3. Table of Contents This section of the tutorial covers all steps necessary to review and certify a Performance Plan using the Performance Management System. The Process Flow Overview will give you a visual idea of how the process works. Process Overview The Review a Plan section guides you step by step on how to use the Performance Management System to review a Performance Plan. HR sets up initial performance record in Lawson Process Overview Email notification is received by supervisor Supervisor creates performance plan on Manager Self-Service Supervisor & employee discuss the performance plan Supervisor certifies performance plan Email notification is sent to employee Employee certifies performance plan on Employee Self-Service Email notification is sent to supervisor Process Overview Here is the basic process for creating a performance plan. These are only the main steps of the process. There are intervening steps that will be covered in more detail in this tutorial. Click the Next button Back Next

If you do not have email, notification may come from your agency’s HR office. Click the Next button Back Next

Reviewing the Performance Plan From the Performance Management Main Menu screen, click the Create/Update an Uncertified Plan button If you do not know how to get to this screen, please review the Getting Started section of this tutorial by clicking the button in the upper right corner to return to the Table of Contents Click the Next button Back Next

  8. Reviewing the Performance Plan The Plan Menu appears showing your name, process level, and current position. Click the Next button Back Next

  9. Reviewing the Performance Plan The most current rating period shows in the Select Rating Period area. Click the Next button Back Next

  10. Reviewing the Performance Plan * To review competencies, click the Competencies button. If competencies have been selected, a red asterisk (*) will appear next to the button. Click the Next button Back Next

  11. Reviewing the Performance Plan The Selected Competencies Screen appears listing the competencies your supervisor has selected for this rating period. The Full Description button next to each competency provides additional information/details about the competency. Click the Next button Back Next

  12. Reviewing the Performance Plan * * A red asterisk (*) indicates that your supervisor has made additional comments to the competency. Click the Next button Back Next

  13. Reviewing the Performance Plan * To review comments pertaining to a specific competency, click the Comments button. To exit comments, click the Back to Selected Competencies button. Click the Next button Back Next

  14. Reviewing the Performance Plan * To review any development plan comments from your supervisor, click the Development Plan button. To exit comments, click the Back to Selected Competencies button. Click the Next button Back Next

  15. Reviewing the Performance Plan * You also have access to the Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scales (BARS) documentation from this screen. The link directs you to the appropriate group information based on your job group code. When you click the Link to BARS Document button, a new web browser screen will open with the group information. To return to the Selected Competencies screen, just close the web browser screen. Click the Next button Back Next

  16. Reviewing the Performance Plan * After reviewing the competencies area, click the Back to Plan Menu button. Click the Next button Back Next

  17. Reviewing the Performance Plan * * To review objectives, click the Objectives/Factors button. If objectives/factors have been entered and saved, a red asterisk will appear next to the button. Click the Next button Back Next

  18. Reviewing the Performance Plan To navigate between each objective, click the Next or Previous buttons at the bottom of the screen or the specific objective number at the top of the screen. To exit objectives, click the Back to Plan Menu button. Click the Next button Back Next

  19. Reviewing the Performance Plan The Progress Review/Comments Area can be used by both you and your supervisor to communicate progress and issues. Click the Progress Review/Comments button. Click the Next button Back Next

  20. Reviewing the Performance Plan The Progress Review/Comments Area screen appears. To add comments, click in the Employee text box and being typing. You are limited to 11,000 characters, including spaces, for this text box To save comments, click the Save Employee Progress Review/Comments button. Click the Next button Back Next

  21. Reviewing the Performance Plan The supervisor can view the employee’s comments, but can not change the detail. The employee can view the supervisor’s comments, but can not change the detail. Click the Next button Back Next

  22. Reviewing the Performance Plan To exit, click the Back to Plan Menu button. Now you are ready to certify your performance plan. Click the Next button Back Next
