Research and Community • Code of Ethics in health research is essential to ensure that the community can have confidence in and benefit from quality research in health and social care. • The community has a right to expect high scientific, ethical research standards. Research Ethics Committee • The role of Ethical review committee is to examine research proposals for ethical considerations such as confidentiality and the consent of subjects and this is particularly important in the area of health research. Areas covered include the research design, ensuring that participants have full access to information, and the way in which the consent has been obtained.
