  2. Facts about Freddie Hubbard • Freddie Hubbard was born April 7, 1938, and died December 29, 2008. • He was known primarily for playing bebop, hard bop, and post bop styles from the early 60s and on. • Hubbard started playing the trumpet in his school band. • He died at the age of 70.

Freddie died in Sherman Oaks, California. • Over a career that began in the late 1950’s, Hubbard earned both critical praise, and commercial success- although rarely for the same project. • He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. • Hubbard was once known as the brashest of jazzmen, but his personality as well as his music mellowed in the wake of his lip problem.

  4. Hubbard’s wife was named Briggie , and his son, Duane. • In my opinion, he was a great trumpeter.
