  11. 1.8 SEEMP – Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan • New chapter 4 to Annex VI, adopted by MEPC 62nd session from 11 to 15 July 2011 • All Ships ≥ 400 GT • Entry into force on 1 January 2013. • For new Ships - Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) • SEEMP establishes a mechanism for operators to improve the energy efficiency of ships • Guidelines to be framed at MEPC 63rd Session, scheduled to take place in February/March 2012 • MEPC.1/Circ.684 – Calculation of Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator (EEOI) [Voluntary]
