A PART OF THE PROVIDERS ONGOING QUALITY ASSURANCE PROCESS

  3. SAAFWHAT GOES INTO THE AUDIT? MINUTES FROM STAFF TEAM MEETINGS / RESIDENTS-RELATIVE MEETINGS / STATEMENT OF PURPOSE / JOB DESCRIPTIONS / TRAINING COURSE LESSON PLANS / EXTRACTS FROM p+P / CV of topic specific trainers / resident newsletters / Other QA Audits THE LIST IS ENDLESS – Possible repetition of MUCH OF WHAT YOU MAY PRODUCE TO CQC – BUT THE FOCUS IS SAFEGUARDING - dual purpose. THE MOST HELPFUL INCLUSIONS WERE THOSE THAT BALANCED THE QUANTITATIVE WITH SOME qualitative - Resident story / history etc.

  4. SAAFwhat does it make you do? As a provider - Focused reflection on what your processes actually achieve. Evidence is great – but what about practice…? A chance to see What else is ‘out there’ ?

  6. SAAFclear and concise compilation… “Two birds – one stone” Some evidence will cross several areas of the SAAF. EG: Resident / Relative Newsletter Can be used as promotion of SOVA concept as well as a chance to remind relatives of their rights and responsibilities to report causes for concern and the routes to do this. It can also serve to evidence to CQC and other stakeholders that the provider takes SOVA issues seriously. Clear indexing Durable construction Buy a ‘Big File’

  7. SAAFuse the evidence constructively… Not just a compilation for Tri Borough and CQC An opportunity to change practice – inform reviews of P+P – make training more dynamic and test competency.

  9. SAAFit doesn’t stop there…. “ a living breathing document – used in operation and service delivery “ • Things change • Processes improve • Training focus changes • Training methods improve • Lessons are learned and these inform change • Keep the SAAF Document alive !
