Logging on • Watch the ucas tv advice on filling in your UCAS form http://www.ucas.tv/ucas/playlist/K7HsW/ • Ask for the school buzzword • Note down your username, password and UCAS ID number • Keep them safe: we can’t access them!! • We can see everything on your form, but we can’t change anything!

  3. Deadlines • Week beginning 01.10.12 you can start your form • Pastoral Care start to send for subject reports • 11.10.12: Parents’ Meeting • 02.11.12: First draft of Personal Statement • 30.11.12 Application deadline

  4. Common errors • Funding is 02, Student AA Scotland • Check your SQA subject codes: the office can print off your results, or you can use your certificate. Usually, the highest code is the one to use.

  5. Education Section • Put in Standard Grades, Int 2s • Highers • and Highers and Advanced Highers pending • Use August 2011, 2012, 2013 as the completion date • Adding in all your units can look messy!

  6. Other Educational Achievements • Check the UCAS tariff tables to find out what else attracts UCAS points • For example, Associated Board Music exams • Graded dance qualifications • Fashion Brand Retailing • Speech and Drama • Sports Leader

  7. Personal Statement • Use the brief and very sensible advice on ucastv • Have a brief look at an exemplar or two • BUT have your own approach • Concentrate, above all, on “Why this course is the right one for me!” • There will be specific support on this.
