  8. CRITERIA FOR CLUSTER CHAIRPERSON Cluster Chairperson, Director of Institute/Centre of Research will be appointed by the Vice–Chancellor. TERM OF REFERENCE (TOR) FOR CLUSTER CHAIRPERSON The cluster chairperson enjoys similar status as a faculty dean • Strategize and plan the direction of the research for the • cluster. • Oversee the implementation of the strategic direction of the • research entities. • Acquire research budget for human resource, infrastructure • and research activities. • Monitor the performance of research activities within the • cluster. • Promote networking and collaboration amongst related • interest at local and international level. • Promote IP generation, commercialisation and • entrepreneurship.
