Challenge • Develop an online collaboration tool for use by its members • AACTE would like to offer its’ members a collaboration tool where members can: • learn from one another • post documents • share resources • discuss policies and procedures • exchange information in timely manner • receive peer feedback

  3. Presentation Outline • Project Vision • Performance Analysis • Needs Analysis • Task Analysis • Design Recommendations • Flowchart and Storyboards • Formative Evaluation

  4. Project Vision To recommend or design a collaboration tool for AACTE’s members. The collaboration should enable users to discuss policies and procedures, learn from one another and share resources.

  5. Performance Analysis Methods • Performance Analysis consisted of: • Meeting with the Subject Matter Expert (SME) • Review of current information • Preliminary surveys • The purposes of our performance analysis were to: • Identify drivers and barriers • Gain an understanding • Review literature

  6. Performance Analysis Results • AACTE goals for members • Feel comfortable collaborating • Communicate through e-mail, journals, newsletters, conferences and the annual summit • Have an online collaboration tool • Preliminary survey

  7. Performance Analysis Results Literature Review • Key Points -Collaboration -Electronic communication -Computer mediated communication • Collaboration Online -Little research is available -Communities of Practice (CoP)

  8. Needs Analysis Methods • Needs Analysis consisted of: • Subject Matter Expert • Literature review • Surveys • The purposes of our needs analysis were to: • Research literature • Members’ opinions • Collaboration tools • Collaboration practices

  9. Needs Analysis Data Gathering • Purpose • Research Method • Participants • Instrument
