  11. Assignment: Expressionistic Animal I can create an expressionistic drawing of an animal using complementary colors. Draw a close-up of an animal in oil pastel. Complete in colors that are not realistic. Expressionistic Animal Rubric for a 3: 1. You must use contrast (dark / light colors or complementary colors) to create a focal point 2. You must use a range of at least 8 colors in your drawing. 3. Your animal must look three dimensional and be a close-up view of the animal (not the whole animal!) 4. Your composition must take up the whole paper- make your drawing go off at least 2 sides of your paper. 5. The background is to contrast with the animal and be completed in pastel 6. Your paper is no smaller than 9” x 12” (use drawing paper) 7. Final drawing must be neat and clean; no smudges, no folds, creases, or wrinkles! Two of the criteria not met will result in a score of 2 More than 2 criteria not met will result in a score of 1
