Champagne a trésrivièr et tréstrésforêt. Champagne a beaucoup l’hôtels et museés. À Champagne, tupeuxjouer au golf ouvoir un film. Champagne est célèbre pour c’estfromage, saucisse, chou, et jambon.

  3. Where? • Northeastern Corner of France • Borders Belgium • Departments: • Ardennes, Marne, Aube, Haute-Marne • West boundary = 90 miles from Paris

History • Settled by Gauls in 500 BC • Then called Lower-Belgium • Louis VII won a war, • Resulted in the Conquest of Champagne • 12 & 13 centuries, was known for its commercial fair, people from all over Europe attended. • Capital then became Troyes. • 1314—Count of Champagne inherited the region • He became Louis X, Champagne became official province of France.

History of Reims • City of Reims is very historical • Clovis I, founder of Frankish Kingdom was baptized in 496 AD • Reims became site of French Coronations • 816-1825, 25 kings were crowned here • Near here, Napoleon won last victory, and was in the school room that Germans surrendered to American ending WWII.

Geography • Land is very acrid and chalky • One area is actually called Chalky Champagne • Farms in the area rely mainly on fertilizers • 2nd most important agriculture region in France. • Known for it’s forests of beech & fir trees • Also known for it’s game • Another area known as wet-Champagne.
