  3. Social Network is a sociological concept for a set of social relations between elements that interact and that are especially individuals.

  4. A Social Network is a set of relations, links, or ties among social actors.

  5. A Social Network is comprised by various nodes and ties that connect them.

  6. TiesThey are the various types of connections between nodes. Ties are assessed in terms of strength. Loose connections, like mere acquaintances are called weak ties. Ties like family bonds are strong ties.NodeThey are the individual actors within the networks.

  8. Social Network in practice:All our function at work and private takes place in some social networks. In every social network it is all about relations that include social interaction and social communication. Social Network can be described, mapped and analyzed. The usual methods are social network analysis and sociometry. The social network in the organization forms an informal organization structure. Its influence on the events and decision making in the organization is greater in less authoritative management styles and types of the organizations. Often in practice, the informal organizational structure is more influential on what is happening in the organization than the formal organization structure.

Small World Phenomenon The Small World Phenomenon is the hypothesis that the chain of social acquaintances required to connect one arbitrary person to another arbitrary person anywhere in the world is generally short. The concept gave rise to the famous phrase "six degrees of separation" after a 1967 small world experiment by psychologist Stanley Milgram which found that two random US citizens were connected by an average of six acquaintances.
