  2. Test Materials What test materials are needed to perform the DAT? AHG Reagents: Polyspecific and Monospecific What is needed for a specimen?

  4. Procedure How do you perform the DAT? Tubes are placed in the cell washer and washed 3-4 times with saline. AHG reagent is added to the dry cell button.

  5. Procedure How do you perform the DAT? Tubes are placed in the centrifuge and spun for preset time (on right). Following centrifugation, the cells are examined for agglutination.

  6. Test Results How do you interpret the results of the DAT? Grade the agglutination reaction in each tube and record the reactions. Interpret the reactions as indicated in the table. DAT test with a 1+ reaction with polyspecific AHG. Monospecific AHG reagents are needed to confirm which globulins are present.
