Apply for the Safety Certification Conduct the factory Inspection Issue the Certificate Test products 3 Safety Certification Scheme overseas/domestic manufacturers Certification Body Testing Laboratory Certification Body Within 45 days Overseas/domestics manufacturers who produce the electrical appliances on the market of Korea shall obtain the safety certification on each model. Scheme which is granted the safety certification on electrical appliances after testing them and assessing their production system When the most influencing components of each model have been modified, the manufacturers shall apply for the safety certification on basic model to the certification body. application document: product description, circuit schematic diagram, list of components, agent identification(when an agent apply for safety certification) Company Logo

Electrical appliances subject to Safety Certification 3-1 247 electrical appliances having the high hazard against safety which shall obtain the safety certification are mandatory, and others are voluntary. Mandatory(247items) Voluntary • Cables and cords: 10 items including rubber insulating materials • Switches for electrical appliances:10 items including interceptors for electrical appliances • Capacitors: 3 items including X,Y capacitors • Installation Accessories: 14 items including plugs • Installation protective equipment: 6 items including fuse • Transformer: 3 items including voltage regulator • Household & similar equipment: 13 items including electric cleaners • Portable tools: 17 items including Electric drills • Audio/video: 26 items including monitors • IT and Office equipment : 9 items including copying machine • Lighting: 18 items including fluorescent lamp • ※ Mandatory safety certification criteria : 225 electrical appliances NOT subject to mandatory certification whose safety certification has been regulated ※ Voluntary safety certification criteria: 462 Company Logo
