  1. Notes about this unit The unit structure is adapted from the 4MAT instructional model which answers the questions WHY, WHAT, HOW and IF. The order of topics as presented in the textbook has been altered to follow the 4MAT model, support working memory, and fulfill the instructional objectives. Refer to the document Unit and Topic Structure for more information. Each slide includes a facilitator script, followed by instructional design explanatory notes. A handout has been included, so that the notes can be followed in slide show mode. Running time of the Passive Data Collection unit is 12-15 minutes, as determined by the target length of the course (6.5 hrs) and amount of source material to be covered. As such, this is not a learner-centered design. A learner-centered design would address audience needs and data from Kirkpatrick level 2 evaluations. A design document, facilitator guide, and participant guide fell out of the scope of this assignment, but would otherwise be included in a complete solution. This unit is designed to be easily converted to e-Learning.
