NDOT Proclamation to bring Part 7 of NLTTA (Transport planning) into effect on 1 June 2002 – currently being Gazetted NLTSF done, to be discussed later in presentation Regulations and requirements for PLTFs and CTPRs consulted intensively, drafts published in Gazette, appropriate comments accommodated, approved by State Law Advisors and will be published after proclamation on effecting Part 7 Dates recommended for finalisation of PLTFs and CTPRs = 31 December 2002 LEGISLATION

  7. NDOT CAPACITY BUILDING Program developed to capacity provincial/local politicians and officials Program will commence end of June 2002 Busy appointing service providers to develop a comprehensive training program for transport planning LEGISLATION

  8. EASTERN CAPE Province has put a tender out to appoint consultations to draft provincial legislation Busy with public participation with the Provincial Portfolio Committee LEGISLATION
