  3. You will notice page numbers referenced on the slides. These are the page numbers in the Test Administration Manual (TAM). The TAM can be downloaded from the proctor station under the “DOWNLOADS” tab on the left of the screen. It is also on http://ComputerBasedTesting.wikispaces.com.

DWA Overview • DWA is designed to measure student’s mastery of the writing standards of the Utah Core Curriculum in Language Arts • Grade 5 & 8 • End of traditional elementary & junior high. • Principal needs to remind students & faculty: • All student testing can be over a few days. • Individual student must finish test in one day.

  11. (DWA) MIST: 2 Main Screen Interfaces • Tester Station (Student Screen) – student uses to access test. • Proctor Station (Proctor Screen) – proctor uses to access, start, and monitor a test administration.

  12. DWA Administration Overview • The test session must be started by the proctor. • Students must be assigned to the computer they will use. • Information from the TAM script is read. • Students type their response. • Students submit their response.

  13. HOW DO YOU SETUP EACH STUDENT TO TAKE THE DWA (Pg. 10-18)? On the day of DWA testing.

  14. Tester Station (Student screen) • DISTRICT TECH should have uploaded MIST on each computer (Proctor & student screens). • Do you know your DISTRICT TECH?

  15. Student Assignment: 2 options for this year!!  (Pgs. 10-18) • OPTION 1: • Assign a student and select a test on each computer (last year’s design). • OPTION 2: • Assign students using a “Test Ticket” (new option for this year).

  16. OPTION 1: Login screen Tester Station, Use “Proctor” MIST Login & Password (Pg. 10-14) CANCEL (will completely exit program)

  17. Assign a student and select a test on each computer. Click on “Show Details” if student specifics are needed.

  18. Click on student’s test. Check test form (Standard or Large Print). Click NEXT. Check Information and click CONFRIM.

  20. OPTION 2: Assign Students using “Test Ticket” (Pgs. 15-18) • Go to https://mist.measinc.com • Enter Proctor MIST login and password for your school.

  21. Select “Test Activity” and then “Download Tester Passwords” • Click “Test Activity” • DOUBLE CLICK ON TEST NAME!!! DOUBLE CLICK ON TEST NAME!!

Make sure to enter Date of Birth in specified format. • First Name • MIDDLE (Optional) • Last Name • Gender • Date of Birth • Student LEA ID • 9+2 (teach reporting group) • Non-Participation (unless student has code) • Non-Standard Participation (unless student has code)

  35. HOW DO I START THE TESTING SESSION FROM the PROCTOR STATION (Pgs. 22-23)?

  36. Proctor’s Work Station: starting test • Go to https://mist.measinc.com. Enter login/ Password. • Click “Test Activity”. • Select Test. • Click “Start Test”. • Status will change to “Active”. USER ID PASSWORD LOGIN

ProctorTesting Protocol(all students sitting at computers ready to go) • Proctor hit “START” on Proctor computer • Tell students to click “START TEST” • Have teacher read teacher prompt. • HAVE STUDENTS SCROLL OVER Toolbar options. • Cut, copy, paste, undo, redo, increase/decrease text size • Tell students to NOT click CLOSE until proctor or teacher tells them at end of test.
