  1. Make Sure You Bring These 5 Things to Your NDIS Provider Planning Meeting! Looking for your perfect NDIS Provider? Make the most out of your National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) planning meeting by being prepared. Before going into the meeting, make sure you have the five things listed below with you!

  2. Here Are 5 Things You Need to Bring to Your NDIS Provider Planning Meeting 1/ Your support person Did you know that you’re allowed to bring your support person (or people!) to your NDIS planning meeting? Many NDIS representatives know that healthcare planning has its challenges, and you may need someone you trust to be with you when this happens. You can go to the meeting with a family member, friend, or caregiver. NOTE: Bringing a support person isn’t mandatory during meetings. If you’re not comfortable bringing anyone else to your NDIS planning meeting, you can always go alone. 2/ Your medical documents It’s essential to bring your medical documents to all your NDIS provider planning meetings. These documents will give the NDIS representative an accurate picture of your condition. Doing so also ensures that the NDIS provider can help make a healthcare plan that truly addresses your needs.

  3. Examples of documents you’ll want to bring include: ●Client Support Plan (CSP) ●Lifestyle Plan ●Health Support Plan ●Behaviour Support Plan ●Therapy Assessment, ●Letters from your doctor, therapist, caregiver, and/or family member talk about your medical condition and the supports you need. 3/ Your healthcare need and goals You need to go into your NDIS provider planning meeting with your needs and goals in mind. Like those medical documents, your health needs and goals help the NDIS representative handle your healthcare plan moving forward. It’s also important to note that NDIS plans are crafted based on your goals. As such, the supports they’ll provide would only be funded if they help you achieve your health goals.

  4. 4/ A summary of your daily activities and supports It’s extremely helpful, both for you and your NDIS planner, to take to your meeting a detailed list of your day-to-day activities. Narrating your daily routine is another way of describing your medical condition, how it affects your activities and the necessary supports you need. You should take time to sit and list down what your daily routine is like. If you need help, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) has a planning booklet that’ll help you flesh out what happens in your typical day. Don’t forget to think about how you get around your home, neighborhood, and frequently visited places, the supports you’re currently available, and any other supports such as personal care and daily meals. 5/ A list of honest questions Fully understanding an NDIS plan can take time. Understandably, you’ll have tons of questions even before you go into the NDIS planning meeting. So, it’s absolutely okay for you to go into an appointment with a list of questions you may have about your NDIS plan. Once you’re in the meeting, you can give the NDIS representative your list of questions, and they should be able to answer each one.
