Mathematics Florida K -12 State Standards Requirements • Aligned with college and work expectations; • Clear, understandable and consistent; • Include rigorous content and application of knowledge through high-order skills; • Build upon strengths and lessons of current state standards; • Informed by other top performing countries, so that all students are prepared to succeed in our global economy; and • Evidence- and research-based.

Students who are College and Career Ready in Mathematics Preparing for the Future • Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them • Reason abstractly and quantitatively • Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others • Model with mathematics • Use appropriate tools strategically • Attend to precision • Look for and make use of structure • Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning Mathematical Practices

  5. Florida State Assessment • 6-8 Computer Based Testing • 6th grade – no calculators • 7th/8th grade – calculator varies • Formulas are provided as needed • Amount of Questions range 62-66 • 3 Sessions 60 minutes each
