  3. Club Flexibility – What does it mean? • Being willing and able to make the changes to your Club’s operating procedures to make it work for themembers you’re trying to attract and retain. • Being willing to try new things to see what works • Being willing to ask prospective members what would need to change to make Rotary work for them, and where practical accommodating those requirements.

  4. Some things to think about: Financial Flexibility / Lowering the cost of membership • Different membership prices/types for younger members, new members, partners • Corporate members • Payment options – all up front, 6 monthly, or monthly by Automatic Payment • Optional meals

  5. Some things to think about: Meeting time and venue • Is the venue welcoming, the kind of place potential members feel comfortable visiting? • Is your meeting time convenient for both people travelling locally or those working in the city? • Is it mandatory to have meals? Is the meal quality good? Are there options for different dietary requirements? • What is your meeting frequency – could you try one weekday meeting and one weekend meeting (perhaps a project working bee)?

  6. Some things to think about: Meeting structure and outcomes • Is attending the meeting a good use of your members’time? • Is there discussion and progress made towards delivery of projects at every meeting? • Do members feel like something has been achieved by attending? • Is it welcoming and easy to understand for visitors?

Corporate Clubs • Rotary Club of Bentley Cheshire • Formed as a satellite club in 2016 and charted as a full Rotary Club in May 2017. • The club continues to have support from Bentley Motors – the initial members were all employees of Bentley, however the membership has now expanded to include people from the surrounding area.

  10. Clubs set up around a theme • Rotary E-Club of WASH – District 9980 • An electronic club bringing together people who are interested in working on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene projects around the world, but based out of Dunedin.

  11. ECO Clubs: Rotary with an Eco Spin • Rotary Clubs or Satellite Clubs which focus specifically on environmental projects. • Why not work with an existing group of environmentally minded people and turn them into a Rotary Club. They can work within the Rotary system to maximise their results. • Rotary Eco Club of Los Osos (on right) meet monthly for hands on eco-projects. No meals, no fines, no fundraising. Partner with other local Rotary clubs.
