Value to the Customer • Value: Keeping you current with the latest policies in sustainable acquisition. • Example: Executive Order 13514 (Oct. 5, 2009) includes sustainable procurement requirements for all new contracts. • Value: Ensuring you have direct knowledge of the tools available to assist you in meeting sustainable procurement requirements. • Example: FAS has a Green Purchasing Plan which contains a wealth of resources related to sustainable acquisition.

Executive Order 13514 - Federal Leadership in Environmental, Energy, and Economic Performance • “…to establish an integrated strategy towards sustainability in the Federal Government and to make reduction of greenhouse gas emissions a priority for Federal agencies” • Exec. Order No. 13,514, 74 Fed. Reg. 52,117 (Oct. 8, 2009).

Advance sustainable acquisition – • Energy efficient, water efficient, biobased, environmentally preferable, non-ozone depleting, recycled content, or non-toxic or less-toxic • Promote electronics stewardship • Sec. 13. Recommendations for Vendor and Contractor Emissions

Provide link to GSA products & services that agencies can use as part of their GHG/energy/water reduction plans; and • 3. Reporting functionality to support EO reporting requirements.
