What is FEA? • Future Educators of Alaska (affiliated with national Future Educators Association) • “Career & Technical Student Organization” (CTSO) • Focuses on helping students prepare for possible careers in education • Related to everything and anything having to do with education / schools / teaching • Membership open to grades middle school and high school students

  3. What does FEA “do”? • Education-related projects and activities • Read Across America day • Recess and reading buddies • Teacher Appreciation Week • Bulletin boards and displays • Regional, statewide, and national events • Fall gathering for middle school students • Leadership training • State & National student conferences

  4. What does membership require? • An interest in working with students at any level, in any role, in any capacity • Attendance at monthly meetings • Active participation in club activities • Commitment to developing your skills as a young LEADER! • Optional participation in district and state activities

To join...and take the lead: • Attend your club’s FIRST meeting! • See your club advisor for a date and time • GET INVOLVED! • Run for an office (must be in grades 9-12) • President / Vice President / Secretary-Treasurer • Help to plan and run events • VOLUNTEER your time in teachers’ classrooms to learn more about the profession • Research the field to learn more about how to prepare for a career in education
