  1. Cyprus The island for everyone Cyprus known as the island of love and playground of the Gods has been a popular, quality destination for holiday seekers for more than 40 years.

Discovering that special magic When the Goddess of Love and Beauty, Aphrodite, also known as Venus, stepped onto the shores of Cyprus at Petra tou Romiou on the west coast of Paphos, she knew what she was doing. She chose Cyprus as her home knowing that it was an island blessed by the Gods with its stunning scenery and dazzling coastline.

History and Legacy With a long colourful 10,000 year history to boast of, having been ruled by the Phoenicians, Assyrians, Persians, Romans, French, Venetians, Ottomans and lastly the British, each leaving a part of their legacy. From ancient settlements to remains of city kingdoms, from Roman villas to Byzantine churches, Crusader castles and magnificent Venetian fortifications, Cyprus offers a unique and diverse culture.

  4. Geography of Cyprus Cyprus is the 3rd largest island in the Mediterranean Sea It is in the north eastern corner of the Mediterranean sea Cyprus is characterized by pine covered mountains and clean, unspoiled sandy beaches.

Historical Facts • Cyprus, a former British colony eventually gained independence in 1960 and joined the British Commonwealth in 1961. • The United Kingdom, however, still retains control over 3 per cent of the land and sea territories as it has 2 sovereign bases. • - There is a large expatriate community

  6. Historical Facts - After the Turkish invasion of 1974, Cyprus was divided into two, the North and the South sides. The Northern side is Turkish occupied where Turkish is spoken and the southern side is Greek where Greek and English are spoken. - The island is separated by the green line that runs through the capital city, Nicosia.It is the only divided capital in the world

  8. More Useful Facts - Nicosia is the capital of Cyprus - Other main towns situated in Southern Cyprus are Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos - There is an excellent road network connecting all towns which is clearly signposted in both Greek and English - Driving is on the left

  9. Dining in Cyprus - Cyprus offers a rich but healthy diet known around the world as the ‘Mediterranean’ diet. - Very popular is the ‘Meze’ meaning little pieces. It is the perfect way to sample the true flavours of Cypriot cuisine consisting of more than 20 dishes including dips vegetables fish and meat. - Compared to the rest of Europe eating out in Cyprus is not expensive.

  12. Malvern House, London Is an independent English language college accredited by the British Council. Was founded in 2000. Has 3 centres all based in Central London. Teaches over 6000 adults each year from more than 100 countries.

  13. The English Learning Centre, Cyprus One of the largest Private English Language Institutes, established in 1990. Fully licensed and ministry approved. All teachers are Native English speakers, with UK top level qualifications (a prerequisite in Cyprus). Cambridge ESOL exam centre. Offers multi programmes to residents in Cyprus.

  15. The Junior Summer Resort The resort is at the Episkopiana Hotel where the local high school opposite the hotel is used. 15 minutes from Limassol and all evening entertainment is provided for either in the hotel or in the local area

  16. The hotel, school and facilities are purely for young students there are no adults at the hotel except for Group leaders and Sports Coaches.

  17. The School We use a new state of the art school with all modern facilities. Classrooms are air-conditioned, well lit, bright and airy. There are 3 computer labs, an indoor gym, outdoor sporting fields, indoor theatre and an amphitheatre
