Ideally, you should write about a cause, an event and a consequence. • BUT sometimes these questions start with Briefly explain the key features of the events of…….With these questions, it’s best to stick to explaining 3 events (ie. what happened) • Always underline words in the Q to get you focused on what it’s asking you • You can get a C for one developed key feature, and an A for two. So if you’re running out of time in the exam, you could sacrifice a paragraph. A second key feature of X was…….. Add no more than 3 sentences to explain. A third key feature of X was…….. Add no more than 3 sentences to explain. • You should try to start each paragraph by identifying a key feature, and then developingthat key feature. For example, • One key feature of the Warsaw Pact was that it was set up to counter the ‘threat’ posed by NATO. • This makes for a much more focused answer than ‘The Warsaw Pact was an alliance of 8 nations set up in 1955……. 7 mins
