Some bridges have even become landmarks and city icons because of their engineering wonder and influence. The number of private bridge infrastructure is increasing after public-private partnership.

  4. Great Belt Bridge Well, the Great Belt Bridge is actually consisting of two bridges – a Western section and an Eastern section. The East Bridge which is 1,624-meter-long suspension bridge spans the deepest part of Storebaelt between the island of Sprogo and Zealand. Every year, thousands of people come to see this bridge.

  5. Chapel Bridge The Chapel Bridge is a 670 foot (204 meter) long bridge that crosses the Reuss river in the city of Lucerne in Switzerland. Chapel bridge is one of the oldest wooden covered bridges in Europe and known as the main attraction of Switzerland. Constructed in 1333, this bridge was designed to protect the city from attacks.

This bridge has taken a lot of damage from war than other elements. The smallest arch was destroyed by the Moors and the other side was destroyed by the Spanish to stop the Portuguese. One should definitely visit this bridge at least once in a lifetime.
