  4. Nucleus • Largest organelle inside the cell • Contains the DNA

  5. Mitochondria • Where energy is made for the cell

  6. Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) • TRANSPORTS items throughout the cell • Located next to the nucleus • Smooth ER- transports lipids • Rough ER(has ribosomes)- transports proteins

  7. Chloroplasts • Only found in plant cells • Absorbs sunlight to make energy • Chlorophyll FILLS the chloroplasts

  8. Vacuole • Storage places inside the cell • Plant cells have 1 large vacuole, animal cells have many small vacuoles
