Stress and Anxiety • High School students are facing more pressure to excel in academics and extra curricular activities in hopes of getting into a good college. • Many students are taking numerous AP ( advanced placement) classes as well as participating in sports, school plays, after school clubs and jobs.

  3. Stress and Anxiety School are now trying to find ways to elevate stress in high school students. • Schools from NJ to California are instituting no homework nights • Other schools have worked a 20 minute prep time for all students that would be the equivalent of a recess break. • Other schools are incorporating yoga and therapy dogs into the daily classroom schedule.

  4. Illegal Drugs The US ranks number one amongst all nations in the number of young people who use illicit drugs.

  5. Teens and Drug Use • A new study shows that 1 in 5 students drink, use drugs, and smoke during the school day. • 60% of all American students report that drugs are used, kept and sold in school. • An additional 52% said that there is a place that students can go to get high and drink on or near school • 1 in 10 high school seniors have admitted to trying cocaine
