  3. A sentence has got a subject and a verb Babies cry. Here babies is the subject and cryis the verb.

  4. Some sentences also contain an object. • The girls play in the garden. • Here ‘the girls’ is the subject. It is the main person or thing in the sentence. • play is the verb. • ‘Garden’ is the object .It usually comes after the verb.

  5. The subject is everything that comes before the verb, including the adjectives. • A clear ,sunny morningbrings joy. • The huge , grey elephantsroam the jungles of Africa.
