  2. Childhood • Born on October 11, • 1844 in Pittsburgh Started to sell veggies as a teenager Worked with his father As a child… He helped his father grind spices for his mother’s pickles as a child

  3. Schooling/ Education His mother enrolled him in Allegheny Seminary But his inspiration for business was clear He went to Duff’s Business College where he took several bookkeeping classes

  6. Failures After joining Clarence Noble and making Heinz and Noble to produce horseradish, they went bankrupt. He wanted to use vinegar as cleaning substance. His idea never made it out of the U.S. OVERSUPPLY OF HORSERADISH
