  1. Procedure of Personal Certificate Attestation Immigrating to another country requires a lot of preparation. You will need documents to prove your nationality, address proof, employment and educational qualification, marital status, etc. To do that you need to submit your personal documents for verification purposes. Legalization is an important process for authenticating a document from your home country to use abroad. Personal document attestation helps to legalize the authenticity of the document and helps to reduce the issuance of forged documents. Personal certificate attestation is needed for getting better employment opportunities, for getting a residential permit or family visa, and to get social security benefits, etc. The main process of personal certificate attestation from India is as follows: Notary attestation and Home attestation: the personal documents needed for immigration are first attested from an authorized Notary and then from the Home department of the respective state where the document was issued. MEA attestation: The documents are legalized from the Ministry of External Affairs [MEA]. If you are immigrating to a Hague convention member country, then you need to do the MEA attestation. Embassy attestation: After MEA attestation, you need to legalize the document from the embassy of the country that you are intending to travel to.
