  1. Feedback from the DCS Headteacher Briefing Session – Friday 5th July 2013 Our second DCS Headteacher briefing session with Rose Collinson was held on July 5th at the EDC and was well attended by Headteachers. Rose shared with Headteacher’s improvement work that has taken place in Suffolk with RSA and the potential opportunity to involve RSA in improvement work within Walsall.  The ‘No school is an island’ link is: http://www.thersa.org/action-research-centre/reports/education/suffolk-education-inquiry-final-report-no-school-an-island Andy McDowell shared with head teachers further strategies related to lesson observations and developing teaching and learning. Handouts and presentations from the session are attached below and can also be access by visiting the ‘Staffroom’ at http://www.the-staffroom.co.uk/. These termly sessions aim to provide a real opportunity to hear about what children and young people are telling us; explore our shared values, ambitions and accountabilities and for leading learning and school improvement. The briefing sessions are open to all Walsall Headteachers. Details of the next session in Autumn Term 2013 will feature in Briefing Note No. 17.
