  1. USA VEIN CLINICS RAISES AWARENESS FOR MEN’S HEALTH

  2. June is Men’s Health Month (MHM), and it became a national observance after President Bill Clinton signed a bill in 1994 establishing National Men’s Health Week (June 11-17, 2021). The goal of Men’s Health Month is to raise awareness of preventable health conditions and to encourage early detection and treatment of diseases among men and boys. • At USA Vein Clinics, we believe in putting our patients first, which is more than providing excellent care. It means educating patients about vein disease, symptoms, and treatment, so they can make the best choices for their well-being. We truly want to make a difference in the lives of the people we treat. That’s why our patients value us as a trusted, compassionate partner on a patient’s treatment journey. • As the largest network of vein treatment clinics in the United States, we want to show our support for Men’s Health Month by sharing our expertise and providing practical ways men can improve their vein health this month and all year round.

  3. Check back each week on our social media and website for great tips that you can use and share. Let’s all take action by supporting men’s health. • Awareness • The first step towards action is awareness. While some may believe that varicose and spider veins are cosmetic issues that mainly affect women, these symptoms of vein disease develop in 80 percent of adult men in the United States. • Varicose and spider veins are the early stages of chronic venous insufficiency, a progressive disease that occurs when your veins, typically those in your lower extremities, don’t allow blood flow back to your heart. • Vein disease can lead to more serious health conditions if left untreated, which is why it’s important for you to know the symptoms of vein disease and how to get the right treatment for your vein health. • Prevention • One of the driving factors behind establishing Men’s Health Month was research that found men were less likely than women to visit a physician for preventative care. That trend has continued, according to two studies done in 2012 and 2018, which found similar results. While more research needs to be done to determine the reasons behind this disparity, we believe that providing education is one of the best ways to help people seek preventative care and take control of their health.

  4. We want you to know the risk factors, so you can prevent your symptoms from getting worse and impacting your overall health. The risk factors for vein disease include: • Standing or sitting for long periods of time: Movement is a great way to promote healthy blood flow and reap other health benefits like reducing your risk of heart attack. • Family history: If either one or both of your parents have vein disease, this puts you at a greater risk. • Age: Veins, as we age, weaken over time. • Smoking or a history of smoking: Smoking weakens our veins, which reduces blood flow. • Obesity: Excess weight puts more pressure on your veins, impacting their ability to pump blood effectively. • High Blood Pressure: This condition increases the risk of your vein valves malfunctioning.

  5. Vein disease is treatable, no matter what your risk factors are. At USA Vein Clinics, we offer a range of effective, minimally invasive treatments for vein disease and other vein conditions. Our doctors are dedicated to working with patients to come up with a personalized treatment plan for their unique needs. • Education • USA Vein Clinics offers a myriad of resources like our weekly newsletter, our blog, webinars with our expert doctors, and awareness campaigns on social media to provide vein health education that our patients can use in their daily lives. When you have questions or want to learn more, our team of skilled and knowledgeable vein specialists are ready to help, whether through an online consultation or a conversation in-office.

  6. We’re passionate about providing the best vein care to meet our patients’ individual needs, and this includes providing information about vein disease and how it interacts with their well-being. Our goal is to improve the quality of patients’ lives through our non-surgical treatments and by sharing our knowledge for patients to use in their ongoing care. • Follow us on social media to access all our resources or schedule a consultation with a vein specialist. • Family • Men’s health is a family and community issue, because of its impact on the partners, children, neighbors, co-workers, and friends who count on the men in their lives. Men’s Health Month emphasizes family because maintaining your health can improve the quality of your life and of the lives of those close to you. Many health conditions are linked to genetics or lifestyle factors, which means that family members can support one another by knowing their family history, learning about risk factors, and working together to make lifestyle modifications that promote better health. • At USA Vein Clinics, we’re passionate about helping people live without the painful symptoms of vein disease. Two of our core values, respect and compassion, help us serve our patients and their families with vein care suited to their particular needs and situation. • USA Vein Clinics was founded in 2005 by a family of doctors, Dr. Yan Katsnelson and Dr. Flora Katsnelson who understand that the quality of care provided to each patient affects their loved ones. We are committed to our patients’ comfort, safety, and satisfaction throughout their entire treatment journey. We have proudly helped thousands of patients on their treatment journeys. We look forward to how we can help you get the vein care you need.
