  4. Technology Plans • Currently submitted plans are narrative descriptions of how districts address SLD requirements • MDE Technology Infrastructure Survey addresses all components under the six METT elements • We are working with SLD to seek approval for new format

SLD Overlap with METT Elements • Instructional Technology • Equipment access for instruction • Assistive technology • Technology Tools • Average age of equipment • Replacement schedule • Shared Services • Technology platform • Level of technology staff support • Data Practices • Network and data security • Data Management • Physical Facilities

MDE Technology Survey • Web submission • Provide comparative technology profile based on • Six METT elements • Gartner top ten tools in each category • Comparison to other districts in the state • Provide electronic form for districts to use the gaps identified in the profile to indicate improvement goals and strategies • Can be updated annually without having to redo the entire plan • Provide comparable data for about all districts in the state

  7. Telecom Aid • State appropriation • Web based collection form • More information in November on specifics of revised data collection from MDE program finance • Financial Steering Committee will be working with business managers and technology directors to develop review and approval process

  8. E-Rate • In flux.. • Work with RMICs, ECUS and Telecom districts to provide a process for districts to access assistance needed to file E-rate • Looking for volunteers for a working group
