MagnaPalooza 2003 AVR Life Line • 1994 – AVR is rolled out • ASNA pioneered the first 16-bit version Windows-based integrated edit-compile-debug environment for the AS/400. • 1995 - ASNA released AVR 2.0 • with the debut of WIN95, AVR got the 32-bit boost it needed. • AVR 3.0 • works with any other Windows Common Object Model (COM)-compliant application (enabling AVR, for example, to tightly integrate the AS/400 with Microsoft Office).

  4. MagnaPalooza 2003 AVR Life Line (con’t) • AVR 3.5 thru 4.0 • Not only works with all COM-compliant apps, it creates Microsoft COM objects (i.e. dll). This opens the door for Web and client/server applications. • AVR .Net (beta) – Partners with Microsoft • Utilizes Microsoft’s .Net platform allowing VB programmers (and programmers using most any other COM programming language) robust, secure and reliable read/write access to iSeries 400 - AS/400s, SQL Server 2000 and ASNA Acceler8DB databases.

  12. MagnaPalooza 2003 E-Mail / Web App • Burco Services sends e-mails to Vendors via an AVR program which provides a link to an AVR Web page allowing the Vendor to update their information.

MagnaPalooza 2003 Check Reconciliation - Burco generates an ASCII text file of printed checks which is emailed to their bank. - A Cleared Checks ASCII file is emailed back and updated in Magnatron saving much time by not having to re-key this information in the ‘Cleared Checks Entry’ program.
