  1. Create Your Own Veracrypt Recovery disk VeraCrypt is an open-source, portable free software key cryptography tool utilized for on-the-fly encryption. The program can create a digital encrypted disc that acts like a normal removable drive but inside a virtual directory. It can encrypt all of the storage devices or a single partition with preboot authentication. If your Mac OS X machine is configured correctly, it should be able to recognize and use these keys when necessary. It's much easier for many people to use the Mac OS X's built-in full disk encryption than to use Veracrypt's tools. Veracrypt is not required if your Mac OS X uses disk encryption with "CBC (ryption algoritm)". Veracrypt is not required if your Mac OS X computer uses the "CBC" full-disk encryption password feature. Veracrypt will however be able assist you in generating an accurate and lasting encryption password. You can use veracrypt and make it compatible with your MAC OS X simply by downloading the following software directly from the official website. After downloading veracrypt, save it to a location on your computer. Next, uninstall it. To do this, simply click "untick" the "start" button located at the bottom left corner of your screen, and then click "lies" next to the line that says "storage". Now the program will be removed and you can proceed with the installation. Once you have reinstalled veracrypt, you'll find it in your /Mac OS X Applications folder. You'll also see a folder called "applications". Next, double click into that folder and then double-click to open the Veracrypt application which will enable you to create a secure, password-protected hidden volume which will act as your primary storage area for all of your important files and data. The main interface allows you to set up different encryption keys and key options. You can select the "new" option to input your personal encryption key/password. Next, you will need to enter the passphrase that will unlock your hidden volume. Also, choose a location where Veracrypt should reside. After choosing the location, save the newly created hidden volumes. This is a straightforward step-by–step process. However if you are new to virtual machines, you may want the instructions included with your veracryptrescue disk to familiarize you with the various commands and options you will have. Once you feel confident enough about following the instructions, you can follow the wizard's instructions to create your own secure encrypted partitions. After you have saved and completed the wizard's setup, you can now boot up your computer to locate your newly created encrypted parts. Once you have created your encrypted partition, you can use it to store your most important programs and files. You can also restore files from the backup you made before creating your secret hidden area.
