  21. mixed forest • many tracks and pathes; rides and little pathes are not good visible, when you cross them (due to the weather conditions in Austria) • characterized by: shallow depressions and pits, flat hills • various thickets (examples on the home page): • dark green: very difficult to run, impassable • middle green: difficult to run • green: slow running • undergrowth: slow and difficult running • vineyard: shows the direction of running • in general: forest has very good and fast-running qualities Terrain Description

Attention • Some broken down fences in the area; they are printed on the map, but not marked in the forest • Long distance: dangerous cliff near a control; it is marked with red white ribbons • Depressions and small depressions sometimes filled with water • Vineyards are only allowed to pass in the direction of planting • Cultivated area: running is only allowed on the edge

Relay men+women - Attention • Some (Very few) controls are positioned about 30m from each other. • They have different control descriptions. • Terrain features are distinctly different. • The terrain features may in a stressed situation look similar. • Check codes! • Always! Also in Middle and Long.
