The LoCo Project- What we were supposed to do • Designer tool • Graphical tool for designing a software system in SaveCCM by adding components, switches, assemblies and connecting them in a workspace. • Creates an XML representation of the model. • Code generator • Callable from the Designer tool. • Use the XML file to generate an Eclipse project.

  15. Problems  solutions • Distance between squads  Lots of communication • Technical problems in Croatia with crashing computers • Version mismatch in the CVS  More steering from CVS responsible • Bad prioritized tasks in the graphical designer  Better priorities

  16. Experiences • Motivation is easily lost • Hard to distribute work equally when people don’t have the same knowledge • Project manager is a boring full-time task in distributed projects

  17. Future development • Comments on component type • Zooming in and out of workspace • Making assemblies smaller • Better looking connectors • Support for storing and importing assemblies and switches • Routine for loading saved projects
