  2. History of Sirius Satellite Radio Sirius Satellite Radio was founded in 1990 in Washington D.C by an ex-NASA engineer Robert Brishman. The company was called Satellite CD Radio, Inc. In 1992, the company becomes known as CD Radio, Inc. In 1999, the company’s name is changed to Sirius Satellite Radio, Inc; it moved to new headquarters in New York City.
