  3. Biological Paradigm • Types of Disease: Infectious vs. Traumatic • Basic Model • Predisposition (resistance) and exposure (germs, trauma, etc.) interact to produce disease • Disease causes symptoms and signs • Symptoms: what is reported • Signs: what is observable (more important)
