  5. Project Advertising to Award Timeframe Advertised Release Date 7/15/02 Advance Advertising 4 Weeks Prior to Releasing Bid Documents Distribute Bid Documents to Bidders (13 weeks) Open Bids 10/22/02 Award Process Award (30-60 days)

Bids for this project will be opened and read in a public forum On Tuesday, October 22 at 2 PM in Sacramento in Room 100 at 1120 N Street Immediately Following Bid Opening: Bid amounts will be verified Preliminary bid results posted at (916) 654-5500 and on the Internet (http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/esc/oe/bidsopened.html) Bid summaries will be mailed to all bidders Public Bid Opening

  7. Award Process • Due to project size, this project may take more than 30 days to award • Before awarding a contract, we verify: • Bid is responsive and complete • Bid security is provided and correct • All forms are complete and correct • Contractor is properly licensed • Verify Compliance with DVBE requirements • All protests addressed

  8. Escrow of Bid Documents Submitted by first Tuesday after Bid Opening See Special Provisions Other Requirements

  9. After Contract Award Contractor has 8 days to sign and return contract for Caltrans approval Executed Documents (returned) Contract signature page signed Payment and Performance bonds included & signed Signed/Approved by Caltrans Contract Execution & Approval
